No one plans to be involved in a car accident. But the harsh reality is that in Pennsylvania alone, there are approximately 350 traffic crashes per day.

Forbes has compiled data for the 2023 year thus far with statistics representing the causes of accidents, injuries, fatalities, and even the number of collisions by state, gender, age, and vehicle type. Visit their website here to discover collision statistics.

What does Forbes have to say about this data? Well, you’ll be pleased to learn that while we can’t predict crashes, we can take measures to alleviate injuries by wearing a seatbelt. Seatbelts do in fact save lives. Forbes found that “when motorists and passengers do not wear them, the chances of death increase. A total of 46% of drivers involved in deadly collisions are not buckled up, and a similar number of passengers–47%–were also unbelted in fatal crashes.”

To keep yourself and others safe, wear your seatbelt, don’t operate a vehicle under the influence, and drive the speed limit.
