The debate over fracking in Pennsylvania has been mostly resolved.  From most perspectives, fracking will continue in the Commonwealth.  Issues over protection of the environment including land, air and water along with health concerns and how much to tax natural gas drilling companies continue to be debated.   In general, Republicans have endorsed a “less is more” handling of the issues.  Democrats have endorsed stiffer environmental controls and a statewide severance tax.

Notwithstanding the Democratic position on the issues which is endorsed by all candidates in the Democrat Primary next week, last night the last candidate debate was interrupted by an Anti-fracking protestor who stormed the stage and needed to be escorted from the studio.  The protest was captured live on many stations carrying the debate.   The protestor accused the candidates of selling out their true philosophies in failing to stop fracking in Pennsylvania.
