Voting along party lines, Pennsylvania State Republican Senators voted to move the gas drilling “impact fee” bill out of committee for a vote by the entire Senate. The bill OKs an “impact fee” suggested by the governor and also mostly eliminates control over drilling rig site locations by local zoning boards and communities. Local governments and environmental groups continue to oppose the proposed bill.
