The Natural Gas Pipeline Litigation Team at DLP headed by Attorneys Pat Dougherty and Joe Price continue to  encounter serious and devastating injuries caused at accidents occurring at natural gas pipeline construction sites.  It is expected that these accidents will only increase now that over seven billion dollars has been dedicated to construction of new natural gas gathering and transport pipelines throughout Pennsylvania.

Natural gas pipeline workers are exposed to many dangers every day on the job.  In fact in 2010, Forbes Magazine, citing a study conducted by Career Cast, found that Gas Pipeline work (along with Oil Rig work) was the most dangerous and worst job in the country!!

What makes Pipeline work so tough is the long days and exposure to untold dangers involved in pipeline construction.   Average work days far exceed the eight hour day worked by most folks.  Add to that the untold dangers found in the field, including big and heavy machines, trenches that collapse, unsafe work platforms, untrained and immature workers, language differences, explosions, falls, unsafe chemicals, and the like—you get it!!–and you have one tough and dangerous job.

DLP has found that every workers represented takes great pride in their job and in constructing safe and efficient pipelines.  Unfortunately, accidents happen all too many days.   These accidents cause severe injuries and death.  Early investigation is the key to preserving vital evidence to protect the worker’s case and his or her family.  Evidence cannot be lost or so too will the case.

With the influx of money to construct new pipelines in Pennsylvania, new jobs will be created, but unfortunately these jobs will exist in a very dangerous industry.
