While traveling in Susquehanna County I drove through Dimock, Pennsylvania.  Dimock became famous after accusations of well water pollution hit the national and international news.   Dimock was featured in anti fracking film productions and many pro drilling advocates blame the water issues in Dimock for eliminating fracking in Wayne County Pennsylvania and the entire state of New York.

Dimock itself is a small rural community.  You pass through it while driving in a blink of the eye.  Nothing sticks out that would tip one off to its significance in the natural gas drilling and fracking industry.  Ironically, Dimock is in the news today for reports noting that natural gas lines are being constructed in the township to provide locally abundant natural gas to homes and businesses in the community.  Energy costs for local residents and businesses are expected to take a serious nose dive.  All good for the community and its residents but how ironic???
