Senator Pat Toomey made a stop in Wayne County Pennsylvania yesterday and met with a group of natural gas lease holders who are anxious for “fracking” to commence in their community. Without getting too specific the Senator touted the benefits of natural gas drilling while staying away from the issues confronting the Delaware River Basis Authority over clean drinking water for millions of people. There has been a moratorium on drilling in Wayne County pending studies on water quality. Now that New York appears to be on the verge of permitting “fracking” in areas abutting Wayne County, it looks like natural gas drilling in the area will be a reality sooner than later.
Meanwhile Pennsylvania Super Lawyer (as named by Philadelphia Magazine) Cal Leventhal continues to represent seriously injured workers and accident victims in Wayne County. Attorney Leventhal is the only resident of Wayne County to be named a Super Lawyer. Attorney Leventhal had the first MILLION DOLLAR VERDICT in Wayne County history and has represented the injured for over 35 years. Attorney Leventhal and the 13 Trial lawyers at Dougherty Leventhal Price LLP are representing victims of GAS DRILLING, GAS TRUCK, GAS INDUSTRY CARS, QUARRY EXPLOSIONS, and other serious accidents throughout Pennsylvania Gas Drilling Country within the MARCELLUS SHALE REGION.
