News regarding the Marcellus Shale gas drilling industry continues to mount at a rapid pace. Against strong criticism the Pennsylvania House approved a sweeping bill approving impact fees and drilling regulations while ignoring critics who maintain that the impact fee is too little too late and that the bill is soft on environmental regulations. Meanwhile, New York has opened a series of eight (8) public hearings statewide to discuss lifting the moratorium on natural gas drilling in that state. Finally, the state of Delaware notified the Delaware River Basin Authority that it will vote no on proposed gas drilling regulations for the Delaware water basin that supplies water to approximately fifteen (15) million people.
