Fatal Work Injury In Pennsylvania

Date: June 4, 2014

Question: If someone is killed on the job, can their family collect anything?

Answer: If a worker is fatally injured in the course and scope of employment in Pennsylvania, his or her survivors may be entitled to receive benefits under the Pa. Workers Compensation Act. Surviving spouses, dependent children and, in certain circumstances, parents and siblings may be entitled to recovery. The amount of money the survivors can recover is a function of what the deceased employee was earning prior to his/her death.
