Waste from fracking includes brine which is a combination of various chemicals and liquids ejected from the ground during drilling.  How to dispose of this waste is always a concern.  Some waste is injected into deep waste wells in Ohio.  Some waste is trucked to decontamination sites.  Other waste is stored in outdoor brine ponds.

Recently a brine pond in Amwell Township was found to be leaking.  Ground soil contamination was discovered.  Remediation is uderway.

Environmental proponents are up in arms over the leak.  Many were opponents of brine ponds from the beginning of fracking in Pennsylvania.  Leaks like these  are not good for the natural gas drilling business in Pennsylvania.
