This Memorial Day weekend Pennsylvania citizens are ready to enjoy the holiday and expected higher than normal temperatures.  They also will enjoy unexpected much lower gasoline prices.  Just as the cost of natural gas fell this winter, the price of gasoline has fallen sharply thanks to oil falling below  $90 per barrel.  This is great news for folks driving to their favorite vacation spots this weekend.

Elsewhere, more information from LeRoy Township, Bradford County reveals that  3  drinking wells and  2  streams are showing signs of methane gas contamination.  DEP and Cheasapeake Oil and Gas (which operates gas drilling wells nearby) are investigating.  Property owners have received clean water and filters while the investigation continues.

Finally, in Harrisburg officials are contemplating the leasing of more  Commonwealth lands at Universities and on State owned properties for natural gas drilling.  This issue has been an ongoing concern for several years and will continue to be debated.
