Pennsylvania Firefighter Cancer Presumption Law (Part III)- Workers Compensation

Date: October 15, 2012

The Pennsylvania Cancer Presumption Law extends the period to file a claim to 600 weeks after the last date of firefighter service. This equates to a little over 11.5 years. Claims under this Law may also be filed on behalf of surviving family members of firefighters who have died as a result of cancer. To qualify for benefits under this Law, surviving spouses or dependent children must file a claim within three years of the firefighter’s death.
