Pennsylvania Gas Truck Accident Lawyers: Colorado Reguires Fracking Chemical Disclosure

Date: December 13, 2011
Posted In: DLP Law

Colorado today became the first state to require gas drilling companies to disclose the name and types of chemicals used in the natural gas drilling process called fracking. Environmental groups have been requesting this information for some time. Gas companies have resisted the requests citing trade secrets and confidential business practices in trying to avoid disclosure. Identifying the fracking chemicals is a hot topic in Pennsylvania where there have been reports of ground water contamination and numerous accidents at gas drilling rig sites resulting in spillage of fracking liquids. Fracking waste water stored at drilling sites is also a major environmental concern.
