Nearly 300 people gathered as the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties held the annual Community Awards Celebration of Caring on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel in Scranton.

The event began with the announcement that the United Way earned the highest possible four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent nonprofit evaluator, for the sixth consecutive year. Only 6 percent of charities in the nation achieved the distinction over that period of time.

“At Dougherty Leventhal & Price, LLP., we’re proud to support the great work that the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties does in this community,” said Joe Price, managing partner, DLP. “We’re committed to investing in the future to improving the lives and futures of children and families in need by investing in Education, Health, and Financial Stability.”
