Recently we reported that gathering pipeline construction throughout the Pennsylvania Marcellus Shale Region is booming.  Projects ranging from $80 million to $2.1 Billion are currently getting underway.  Hundreds, if not thousands of pipeline construction workers will be in the fields working on these exciting projects.

Unfortunately, as with every major outdoor construction project, injuries and death will occur.  Pipeline construction involves unique risks to workers.  Clearing timber, digging and working in trenches, climbing mountainsides, transporting and moving into place large portions of pipe, operating and working in close proximity to large ,heavy equipment, long hours causing sleep deprivation, getting to and from rural construction areas and the everyday natural hazards of working in the wilderness are just some of the challenges confronting hard working men and women in the field.  Accidents are bound to occur.

Pipeline workers involved in accidents need to know their rights.   Not only are issues involving workers compensation at play, but potential claims against responsible third party non co-employees or companies need to be investigated promptly.
