Pennsylvania has a program called “Kids’ Chance, Inc.” This program is designed for children who are bound for post-high school education. Eligibility also requires that the child’s parent has been killed or seriously injured and has Workers’ Compensation as a result of a work related accident. Finally, the family must show a financial need. The scholarships are available to children who are entering to study, or are already studying, towards receiving an undergraduate bachelor or associate degree.

Children of an injured worker are eligible for the equivalent of four traditional years of scholarship awards. Unfortunately scholarships for graduate level programs are not available.

For more information concerning these scholarships, please contact the law offices of Dougherty, Leventhal & Price, L.L.P.
