The natural gas industry rolled into the gas fields of Pennsylvania over the last five (5) years and commenced “fracking” without  any modern regulations.    New York was in the same position and forbid “fracking” until regulations were adopted and put in place.   Now reports note that the DEP is proposing new regulations in Pennsylvania amending the old Oil and Gas Laws of  1984 in order  to protect the environment especially ground and surface water.  Chief among the over  100 proposals is the elimination of surface waste water pits.   Drilling companies created waste pits to store millions of gallons of fracking brine and waste.   The pits were built with no government regulatory oversight.  Only time will tell if meaningful regulations are passed in Harrisburg and approved by Governor Corbett.

Meanwhile the  13  Trial Lawyers at Dougherty Leventhal Price  LLP continue to represent victims of GAS DRILLING RIG SITE ACCIDENTS  and GAS TRUCK and GAS CAR ACCIDENTS throughout  NEPA, Central and throughout the gas fields of Pennsylvania.
