What is an IME ?

Date: August 11, 2012

Many times during the coarse of an auto case or a slip and fall case, the Defense will send the Plaintiff for an Independent Medical Evaluation (IME).  In my 17 years of experience, I have found these IMEs to be anything but independent.  The same doctors are paid by the same insurance companies to say that my clients are not injured.  I can literally write half of the reports I see on a weekly basis.  I go to all IMEs with my clients and you should demand that your lawyer do the same.  It makes it a lot easier to pick these doctors apart on cross examination.  Brian G.
